About the Author
Virginia Lee Burton (1909–1968) was an author, illustrator, and designer whose work continues to inspire generations. Known for Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel and Katy and the Big Snow, she captured the beauty of ordinary life with extraordinary warmth and imagination. Living in Gloucester, Massachusetts, Burton also founded the Folly Cove Designers, a collective of artisans dedicated to craftsmanship and storytelling through art.
