It begins with the chime of an old clock and the gleam of a grand staircase — echoes of a time when this was more than a building; it was the heart of a town. From 1898 to 1984, the Tompkin’s Building was where families came to shop, gather, and celebrate life’s moments, from browsing fine dresses to meeting Santa on the grand staircase. We’ve preserved that staircase, the building’s original frame, and its iconic clock, bringing new life to this landmark as New Middletown. Our mission is to help our town flourish again, restoring the charm, prosperity, and community spirit of the past.

Step inside and you might think you’re on 5th Avenue — soaring ceilings, a magnificent crystal chandelier, and an elegant, thoughtful layout. Sofas in the center invite husbands and dads to relax while their wives shop, while upstairs, a cozy, beautifully decorated children’s play corner keeps little ones happily entertained.
