Every jar of honey carries a small story of the season — the blossoms the bees visited, the fields they traveled, and the quiet work that happens long before the honey reaches your table.

This I Love New York Honey is a true local wildflower honey, gathered from bees that collect nectar from a variety of blossoms across New York. Because the flowers change with the seasons, no two harvests taste exactly the same. Some jars are light and floral. Others are deeper and more complex. That natural variation is part of the charm of natural wildflower honey — it reflects the landscape it comes from.

Many people also reach for local wildflower honey as a natural way to support seasonal wellness. Because the bees gather pollen from nearby flowers, it’s often sought out by those hoping to ease seasonal allergies while enjoying a delicious everyday sweetener. Smooth, golden, and versatile, it’s a pantry staple you’ll find yourself reaching for again and again.

Story Behind

Local beekeeper Ruth Harrigan has spent more than a decade caring for bees and teaching others about the importance of pollination. Her journey began unexpectedly while researching how to raise chickens for her daughter. During that search, she came across a petition to legalize beekeeping in New York City. Intrigued, she signed it and enrolled in a beekeeping course just as the city lifted its ban in 2010.

What started as curiosity quickly turned into a lifelong passion. After years working in finance and teaching children’s yoga, Ruth devoted herself to beekeeping and sharing the sweetness of local honey. Today she continues to advocate for pollinators while producing natural wildflower honey that reflects the flowers and seasons of New York.
