How to Enjoy

Start with whichever animal looks the most fun—there’s no need to work through the book in order. Follow the first line, add the next shape, and keep going until suddenly there’s an entire animal sitting on the page.

Once the basic drawing is finished, the real fun can continue. Add spots to the dog, give the lion an extra-wild mane, draw an underwater world around the dolphin, or bring everything to life with colored pencils, crayons, or markers.

Alli Koch is a Dallas-based artist, author, muralist, and the creative force behind Alli K Design. Her creative career began after college and has grown from canvas projects and floral doodles into large-scale murals, published books, teaching, and more.

Along the way, Alli discovered that creating art was only part of what she loved—helping other people discover that they could create, too, became just as important. Her drawing books bring that idea to young artists through approachable projects that make picking up a pencil feel exciting rather than intimidating.
